Enron was created by a merge between Houston Natural Gas and Internorth. Houston's Natural Gas's CEO Kenneth Lay headed the merger of the two companies. Kenneth Lay became the CEO of Enron. Enron was originally solely involved with the distribution and transmission of electricity and gas in the United States. In the merger, Enron incurred a large amount of debt, and as a result of deregulation, no longer had exclusive rights to its pipelines. The company had to find a way to generate profits and cash flow. Kenneth Lay hired Jeffrey Skilling to work for Enron as an accountant. Skilling suggested the practice of buying gas from a network of suppliers and selling it to consumers at a fixed price with a contract. Enron was interested in the expansion, building, and operation of pipelines, power plants, and other infrastructure worldwide. After just a year of operation Enron merged with a company called Spectrum Seven, a company whose chairman and CEO is the former president of the United States, George W. Bush. In 1999, Enron tried to expand their company by creating the Azurix Corporation, a water utility company. Overall the Azurix Corporation proved unsuccessful financially. The Azurix Corporation, due to their failure to make an entrance into the market, went under. By 2001, Enron announced plans to dissemble Azurix and liquidize the assets of the corporation.

Like many other companies Enron offered a retirement plan to its employees, in which they could substitute earnings for stocks in Enron. The benefits to this were that the employees were able to buy the stock on a tax-deferred portion of their pay. When the company closed in December 2001, sixty-two percent of the company's 401 k plan was held in Enron stock. The stock, which once traded at eighty dollars a share, went for less then seventy cents a share when Enron folded.

History of Houston Texas

Bellaire

Wildlife removal has become a growing industry. Knowing how to get rid of raccoons from attics, how to get rid of squirrels nesting and from chewing on your house, or even how to get rid of an armadillo from digging up your lawn has become more difficult for homeowners and property managers to manage.

The problem has become to large for cities to handle so a new industry has been born, Nuisance Wildlife Removal. The most common nuisance wildlife is raccoons, squirrels, rats, bats, opossums, skunks, snakes, and armadillos. Wild hogs have recently become a common nuisance. Hogs mostly have effected the farm industry and ranching, but is becoming an urban nuisance as well.

Armadillos, skunks, and opossums commonly take up urban residence. Cities will only come and pick them up if you already have them trapped. Rats and bats should quickly be removed from structures before they over populate the property.

Wildlife removal has become a separate industry from pest control. A wildlife removal company will use natural methods of removal and traps to get rid of the nuisance animals. Pest control uses chemicals to control insects.

Armadillos may not look like any other creature in North America, but they can certainly be as destructive as the best of them. Armadillos mainly make their homes in the southern states of the US and in areas of Mexico and South America where the soil is soft and warm. Armadillos must dig for most of their food as their diet largely consists of worms, grubs and insects. While normally, these animals are considered as harmless (dare I say cute in an ugly way) critters, they can do a considerable amount of damage to your property.

Armadillos are regarded as pests by landscapers, homeowners and gardeners alike because of their incessant need to dig. Not only do they have to dig for their meals, but most of the issues that arise around armadillos are about their burrows. Armadillos obviously don't understand that some places are not ideal to dig their burrow, so they often end up under your house or your porch. If they burrow too close to the supporting beams of your porch/house/etc. it can actually cause the foundation of your structures to crack! Do not let this happen to you, there are some things that you can do to get rid of your armadillo problem.

DON'T:
1. Attempt to poison the armadillo. Not only is it ineffective, it is dangerous to all other animals, your pets and your family to lay out poison.

2. Shoot them or use any other inhumane method of getting rid of them.

3. Buy and use repellents; they simply do not work and you will end up wasting your money.

4. Do not put up your fence without getting the armadillos out of your yard first.

Getting rid of your armadillo problem doesn't have to give you heartburn. When in doubt, call a professional near you to help you with your problem. This is the easiest (and cheapest in some cases) way to handle your armadillo issues.
